It has been approximately 600 years since the Age of Discovery, when countless adventurers set sail in pursuit of trade, wealth, information, and fame; yet the fundamental essence of the shipping industry—safely transporting vast quantities of cargo—remains unchanged to this day. As long as the oceans cover 70% of the Earth’s surface, the shipping industry will undoubtedly remain a vital, growing sector.
However, the shipping world has also been transformed by the influx of speculative capital that circulates globally in an instant, the trading of ships themselves as commodities, and rapid technological advancements—all of which have upended conventional industry norms. Barriers to entry have lowered, making it possible for anyone with the necessary capital to enter the market. At the same time, regulations regarding environmental conservation and safety have become increasingly stringent, placing greater demands on shipowners. To survive and thrive within this complex landscape, we believe it is essential to harmonize with our stakeholders, provide high-quality services, actively engage in environmental conservation, and maintain flexibility in our thinking and actions.
Since Kumiai Senpaku Group founding in 1972, our group has grown thanks to your warm support. A pivotal moment came in 1995 when we acquired six vessels from Kumiai Senpaku and launched our Ship owning operations in Singapore with an eye toward strengthening competitiveness and expanding internationally. In April 2025, we marked our 30th anniversary. We owe this milestone to your continued support and guidance, for which we are deeply grateful. Although we are still evolving, our entire team remains committed to working diligently to serve the best interests of our stakeholders.
We are promoting the “Kizuki-no-Mori” (Forest of Awareness) project as part of our commitment to environmental conservation and the goal of coexisting and prospering alongside a sustainable society. We are dedicated to making a meaningful contribution to society as a group, however modest our efforts may be, and we humbly ask for your continued guidance and encouragement.
