Thank you very much for your continued patronage of our company.
About 600 years have passed since the Age of Discovery, when countless adventurers set out to sea in search of commodity trading, wealth, information, and fame, the essence of shipping, which is to transport large volumes of cargo safely, has not changed at all until the present day. As long as there are oceans, which account for 70% of the Earth’s surface area, shipping will undoubtedly be a necessary growth industry in the future.
However, the shipping industry has also seen an influx of speculative money that flows around the world in an instant and ships themselves have become traded as commodities. Combined with the ever-advancing technology, this has changed the conventional wisdom of shipping. The barriers to entry into the shipping industry have become lower, and it has become an industry that anyone with funds can enter. On the other hand, rules and regulations on environmental conservation and safety are becoming increasingly strict, placing increasing demands on shipowners. In order to survive and develop in this complex structure, we believe that it is necessary to harmonize with stakeholders, provide high-quality services, actively protect the environment, and value flexible ideas and actions.
Since our founding in 1972, we have grown thanks to your warm support. In 1995, we acquired six ships from our parent company, Kumiai Senpaku, and started shipowning in Singapore with an eye on strengthening our competitiveness and expanding overseas in the future. In April this year, we will celebrate our 30th anniversary. In 2022, we celebrated the 50th anniversary of the founding of the Kumiai Group. We owe this to your support and guidance, and we are deeply grateful for it. Although we are still in the development stage, all of our executives and employees will continue to work hard to be of service to our stakeholders.
Our company is promoting the “Kizuki no Mori” project, which aims to conserve the environment, with the aim of coexistence and prosperity in a sustainable society. We intend to make efforts to contribute to society as a whole group, however small our contribution may be, so we ask for your continued guidance and encouragement.
