Dear all, we would like to offer our heartfelt thanks for your support of our company.
The true nature of shipping in terms of safely transporting large amounts of cargo has not changed since the Age of Geographical Discovery 600 years ago, when many great adventurers embarked the oceans in search of commodity trading, wealth, information and fame. As long as the oceans cover seventy-percent of the earth’s surface area, shipping will continue to remain a necessary and vital industry for the growth of the global economy.
However, as speculative money moves around the globe rapidly and flows into the shipping industry, turning the ships into trading commodities, and along with the advancement of the technologies, the conventional way of the shipping business has been changed irrevocably. The barriers of entry into the shipping business have been lowered, and it has become the kind of industry which anyone with the appropriate funds can participate in. On the other hand, strict regulations for environmental protection and safety procedures implemented worldwide have made the demands upon ship owners harder than ever before. To remain relevant, it is crucial that we evolve and adapt to these changes. To that end, it is important for us as shipowners to return to the fundamentals of shipping, focus on ship owning activities as shipowners, work even more closely and harmoniously with all our stakeholders, provide high quality services to achieve safe and efficient navigation, and remain flexible in order to respond to the ever-changing needs of the industry.
Since the founding of the Kumiai Group in 1972, we have been able to further the development of our company, thanks to the warm support we have received from you and our stakeholders. Building on this foundation, we were first established in Singapore in 1995 by purchasing 6 vessels from our parent company, Kumai Senpaku Co., Ltd., with the aim of strengthening our competitiveness and overseas expansion efforts. Come next April, we will be celebrating our 25th anniversary. More excitingly, we will see the 50th anniversary of the founding of Kumiai group in 2022. As we pass these milestones and continue our future development, please allow us to once again express our deepest gratitude for your support, guidance, and for gracing us with your presence. All of our management and staff will continue to put in their utmost effort to progress and excel alongside our stakeholders in any way possible.
In addition, we strongly support our group’s basic philosophy of “Co-existence with the Environment”. Not only our company, but the entire Kumiai group, strive to the contribute to the society through our “Kizuki No Mori’ project, which literally translates to “Build-A-Forest”, to do our part to promote environmental awareness and protection. We look forward to your continued guidance and encouragement.
